AI-Generated Instructional Presentations
Transforming Existing Curriculum into Engaging Classroom Presentations

This project showcases how artificial intelligence was used to transform pre-existing curriculum content into visually engaging, instructionally effective classroom presentations.

Rather than generating lesson plans from scratch, the AI workflow converted existing lesson materials from Canvas into polished slide presentations that enhanced instruction while significantly reducing development time.

The objective was not to replace the curriculum, but to reimagine how it was delivered. By combining AI with professional multimedia tools and instructional design principles, each lesson became more organized, engaging, and easier for students to follow.

Project Goals

The workflow was designed to:

  • Transform existing Canvas lessons into professional instructional presentations.

  • Improve student engagement through better visual communication.

  • Maintain alignment with the original curriculum and learning objectives.

  • Standardize the appearance and structure of every lesson.

  • Reduce the time required to prepare daily instructional materials.

  • Create reusable presentation assets that could be updated and refined over time.

Development Process

1. Curriculum Review

Each project began with an existing lesson housed in Canvas. The lesson objectives, instructional content, assignments, and supporting resources were reviewed to identify the key concepts students needed to learn.

2. Prompt Engineering

Custom prompts were developed to guide the AI in transforming the Canvas content into a structured instructional presentation.

Rather than simply copying information, the prompts instructed the AI to reorganize the material into a logical teaching sequence, emphasizing clarity, engagement, and student understanding.

The prompts were refined over time to consistently produce presentations that matched my instructional style and classroom expectations.

3. AI-Assisted Content Development

Using ChatGPT, the original lesson content was reorganized into a complete presentation that included:

  • Daily learning objectives

  • Teacher explanations

  • Step-by-step instruction

  • Guided examples

  • Digital Notebook checkpoints

  • Visual learning supports

  • Review opportunities

  • Lesson summaries

Every slide was written with the goal of making complex concepts easier for middle school students to understand.

4. Presentation Design

The AI-generated content was imported into Chalkie, where it was transformed into visually engaging slide presentations.

After generation, each presentation was reviewed, edited, and refined to ensure instructional accuracy, visual consistency, and alignment with the original Canvas lesson.

Technology Used

Artificial Intelligence

  • ChatGPT — Content organization, instructional writing, prompt engineering, and lesson restructuring

  • Chalkie — AI-powered presentation generation

Design & Production

  • Adobe Photoshop — Graphic editing and visual assets

  • Adobe Acrobat — PDF review and distribution

  • Additional design resources as needed to enhance instructional quality

Challenges Addressed

Preparing engaging daily presentations from existing curriculum can require significant time, even when the instructional content has already been developed.

This workflow helped solve several common challenges by:

  • Eliminating repetitive formatting and slide creation.

  • Organizing information into a more effective instructional sequence.

  • Improving visual consistency across every lesson.

  • Making complex concepts easier for students to follow.

  • Reducing preparation time while maintaining instructional quality.

  • Creating a repeatable workflow that could be used throughout an entire course.

Skills Demonstrated

  • AI-assisted instructional design

  • Prompt engineering

  • Curriculum interpretation

  • Educational content organization

  • Presentation design

  • Multimedia integration

  • Workflow optimization

  • Quality assurance and content review

  • Educational technology implementation

Educational Impact

This project demonstrates that AI can do far more than generate content—it can enhance the delivery of existing curriculum. By combining carefully engineered prompts with AI-powered presentation tools, existing Canvas lessons were transformed into engaging instructional experiences that were easier for students to understand and more efficient for educators to produce.

The result was a scalable workflow that preserved curriculum integrity while improving visual communication, classroom engagement, and instructional efficiency.
